ABOUT

Team Blake voice finalist (four chair turn) Valerie Ponzio releases her upbeat new single 'Órale', the popular Spanish term for 'hell yeah'. With over 42,000 social fans, Valerie has a highly engaged audience within the Texas, Latin + Traditional country fan communities. Her Voice audition video of 'Ring of Fire' has over 4 MILLION views on YouTube + Facebook.

Valerie was born and raised in El Paso, TX. The song was released in late July 2019. The music video was set to be released in early August but on August 4th the city of El Paso, TX was struck with horror and tragedy when an armed gunman shot and killed 22 El Pasoans at local Wal-Mart. Valerie is deeply tied to her hometown and was proud to feature so much of it in the music video of "Órale." She felt that it was too celebratory to release while every El Pasoan including her were grieving for their city after the senseless & racially motivated killings. The city has been healing and has come together in grace, strength and solidarity. She feels that now is the time to release a song that celebrates her culture and most of all her city.

BEHIND THE VIDEO

"Channeling Dolly Parton and Janis Joplin, Ponzio balanced a sweet coo in the beginning with full-throated wails near the end of her performance"

- Rolling Stone

“You are the most well-rounded singer, I think for this particular panel of judges, that I’ve really kind of ever heard. Amazing!”

- Adam Levine
